🧱 Dear Tech Companies: Two-year-old edition

Dear Tech Companies,

There is never a good time to interrupt a two-year-old to ask her for a one to five-star review while she’s playing the LEGO® DUPLO® WORLD game.

I understand that app review ratings are a vital metric impacting your rank in App Stores. While it pains me to write this, if your app is good and my children like it, we parents will rate it on our own time instead of being forced to so our children can return to their firetruck game because an App Store review popup prevents them from playing. I assume no one on the LEGO app store team has children to understand the pain, confusion, and agony this brings.

It’s deeply frustrating to encounter in-game purchases in a game designed for TWO TO FIVE-YEAR-OLDS. Fortunately, we’re on the Apple One / Apple Arcade plan, which allows us to bypass such unnecessary features.

I hope that you can learn from the mistakes made in the LEGO® DUPLO® WORLD game. This way, you can avoid frustrated parents leaving you with low app store ratings in the heat of the moment.
