I am in Pittsburgh for PyCon US, and three of my last four mornings have begun with a blank iPhone 14 screen that refuses to come back on.

I never charge my phone overnight, so I’d like to know if it’s the routine change or my Book Book phone case I purchased last week. Either way, waking up to a dead screen after charging all night is stressful.

If you find yourself stuck in this situation, thankfully, there is an Apple discussion thread that helped me get to the iPhone logo.

…press the up volume button once then the down volume once and hold the power button on the right side until you see the Apple logo. This resets the iPhone.

This is apparently a firmware bug, but hopefully, it helps someone who might also wake up to a blank iPhone screen.
